About me
My background
Hi, I’m David, a data trainer helping people and teams get confident with data and AI, using Excel, Power BI, SQL and Python.
I started out as a maths teacher and spent over ten years in schools, including as Head of Maths. I then moved into data, working as a Data Analyst and Technical Trainer, and designing maths resources for an EdTech company. Today I train Level 3 and Level 4 data apprentices, and I’ve taught AI courses for BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
How I teach
Data can feel overwhelming at first. My teaching background means I know how to break it down: one idea at a time, with realistic examples and plenty of practice. I’ve taught in classrooms and online, and I keep groups small so everyone gets the support they need. Whether you’re just starting out or building on what you know, you’ll get clear explanations and honest feedback.
Outside work
When I’m not working with data, I’m usually planning my next trip: I’ve visited more than 40 countries so far. I also enjoy trivia, sport and hiking.
